Function and classification of high voltage transmission tower

2024-09-26

High voltage transmission tower is mainly used to set up high voltage power lines, and secondly, it can also be used for communication stations, transmission of various communication signals and microwave station signals, etc. The height is to avoid the impact on the surrounding environment and prevent safety accidents.

High voltage transmission towers are divided into 16 types according to their shapes

1. S-shaped 2. Wishbone-shaped C 3. Cat-head-shaped M 4. Harpoon-shaped YU 5. V-shaped V

6. Triangle-shaped J 7. Sheep-horn-shaped Y

8. Dry-shaped G 9. Bridge-shaped Q 10. Wine glass-shaped B 11. Gate-shaped Me

12. Drum-shaped Gu 13. Field-shaped T 14. King-shaped W 15. Positive umbrella-shaped Sz 16. Inverted umbrella-shaped Sd

High voltage transmission tower is divided into 8 types according to its use:

1. Straight tower Z: used for the straight part of the line, hanging vertical insulator string

2. Corner tower J: used for the corner of the line

3. Terminal tower D: set at the line terminal in front of the substation

4. Crossing tower K: set at the crossing of wider rivers and canyons

5. Transposition tower H: set in the middle of the road for phase reversal

6. Tension tower N: used at important locations of the line to limit line accidents and anchor the conductor. It is convenient for construction and maintenance, and hangs a string of tension insulators

7. Branch tower F: suitable for the bifurcation of double circuits.

8. Straight corner tower ZJ: used for the straight part of the corner of the line
