Power line joints can be divided into tensioning joints and non tensioning joints according to their properties. Tensile joints are joints that bear all the tension of the wire; Non-tensile joints refer to the joints for the purpose of connecting current, including T-shaped wire clips, equipment wire clips, and hook wire clips, etc. This type of joints has low requirements on mechanical strength, but very strict requirements on electrical properties. The connection mode of the tension-resistant pole tower drainage of 110kV line under the jurisdiction of Hengshui district mainly adopts the joint trench line clamp connection. With the increase of the running time of the line, the phenomenon of the drainage broken strand occurs many times, which seriously affects the safe operation of the line.
The reasons for the broken strand in the drainage of tension-resistant pole tower of 110 kV Hengshui power transmission line can be analyzed from three aspects: thermal effect, contact resistance and creep.
(1) Thermal effect
Changes due to the heating effect of the current, when the power load and the cold winter and summer climate, can cause the change of temperature of the joint, the contact surface, degrade joint subjected to heat bilges cold shrink, resistance increases, and each time the temperature to increase circulation resistance and increase the heat of the next cycle, especially when the load is bigger, may lead to overheating, drainage of tapping and even burn out.
(2) Contact resistance
The connection principle of the drainage joint is to reduce the contact resistance of the joint by applying pressure to the contact surface to achieve the purpose of safely transmitting the specified load current, so the joint should first consider how to reduce the contact resistance. The increase of contact resistance increases the loss of electric energy and causes the temperature to rise. At high temperature, the corrosion and oxidation are aggravated, which further deteriorates the quality of the connection, and eventually leads to the breakage and even burning of the wire.
(3) Creep
Creep is a permanent deformation of a metal that occurs slowly over time under the simultaneous action of a certain temperature, external force and its own gravity. The joint creep of wire is closely related to thermal effect and contact resistance. In the process of running, the temperature change of the wire and the pressure caused by wire connection hardware creep, creep make contact pressure is reduced, and make the contact resistance increases, resulting in a higher temperature, which in turn will further increase the creep, the influence of conductor wire clip grip force, the contact resistance to rise further, a vicious cycle to accelerate the joint deterioration, eventually leading to wire broken stocks even burn out.
